Stars, inspired by Moschino Cheap and Chic Stars (2014)

Citron opens Stars with a fizzy, sherbet-like lift that the launch notes called a granita. Rose and peony follow quickly, then orange blossom and jasmine fill out a full but clear bouquet with lily of the valley. As the flowers recede the base turns dry: driftwood and vetiver give a grey, mineral woodiness, and ambroxan, a modern ambergris-type material, adds a faintly salty glow.

About the original

Launched in September 2014, Stars was the first fragrance for the Cheap and Chic line under Moschino's creative director Jeremy Scott. Alexandra Kosinski composed it, and it was sold as an eau de parfum in 30, 50 and 100 ml. It is sometimes dated to 2005, but the launch press is from 2014. Neither Moschino's shop nor its licensee Euroitalia lists it now, and remaining bottles are scattered across a few retailers.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Moschino stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Floral lovers who avoid sweetness will find the dry woody base the main attraction. The bouquet is generous, so the first stage reads distinctly flowery before the wood takes over, and the overall mood leans fresh and romantic rather than heavy.

Is Moschino Stars discontinued?

It no longer appears in Moschino's or Euroitalia's listings and is shown as unavailable at some retailers. Moschino has not announced anything officially.

Are Moschino Stars and Cheap and Chic Stars the same perfume?

Yes. Both names refer to the same 2014 eau de parfum from the Cheap and Chic line.

Is Stars sweet?

Not especially. Citron and flowers keep it fresh, and the driftwood and vetiver base is dry rather than sugary.

Is Moschino Stars coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Moschino that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
