Amyris Femme, inspired by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Amyris femme (2012)

Pear and lemon blossom open Amyris femme with a clear, fruity sparkle, and sweet pea adds a delicate, watery floral note. At the centre is amyris, a pale Caribbean wood oil sometimes called West Indian sandalwood, which smells gently woody and slightly smoky. Iris lends it a dry, powdery smoothness. Beneath all of this lies a musky amber base that warms the fruit without making it sweet.

About the original

Francis Kurkdjian launched Amyris femme in 2012 together with Amyris homme, creating the feminine side with the Parisian woman in mind. The brand's description of the notes has shifted over the years: early press mentioned Californian orange, vetiver and Florentine iris, while the current page names pear, sweet pea, lemon blossom, amyris and iris. No source confirms a reformulation. There is also an Amyris femme Extrait de Parfum with a different note list built on jasmine grandiflorum and mandarin blossom.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Maison Francis Kurkdjian stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

It is aimed at women who want something fresh and clean with a little warmth, closer to well-groomed skin than to a bouquet. The sweetness is restrained. A buyer looking for a heady white floral or a rich amber may find it too reserved.
