Centaurus, inspired by Creed Centaurus (2024)

Spice comes first in Centaurus: cardamom, cinnamon and pink pepper, wrapped round a dry, leafy tobacco. Geranium gives the heart a faintly rosy, minty freshness, and sandalwood and patchouli add depth, with heliotrope and jasmine softening the edges. The base is resinous and sweet, built from benzoin, tolu balm (a balsam with a cinnamon-vanilla smell), tonka and bourbon vanilla. Ambroxan keeps the finish from becoming too dense.

About the original

Creed launched Centaurus in September 2024 alongside Delphinus as The Amber Universe collection. It takes its name from the Centaurus constellation and the centaur Chiron. Creed markets it as a universal woody amber, though some press presented it as a men's scent. The brand describes it as bold and fiery, the stronger of the two Amber Universe fragrances.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Cinnamon and tobacco set the tone, so it appeals most to people who already enjoy spiced, resinous ambers. Compared with its sister scent Delphinus, it is spicier and warmer, with less powder. If tobacco or sweet balsams put you off, it is a poor match.

How does Centaurus differ from Delphinus?

Both are Creed's 2024 Amber Universe scents. Centaurus is the spicier, tobacco-led one; Delphinus is softer and more powdery, with incense, almond and orris. We make both.

Is Centaurus for men?

Creed markets it as unisex, although some press introduced it as a men's fragrance.

Does it smell of tobacco?

Yes, tobacco is a top note alongside cardamom and cinnamon, and it stays present as the amber base develops.
