Erolfa

Erolfa, inspired by Creed Erolfa (1992)

The first spray is a burst of lemon, lime, mandarin and bergamot, with basil and ginger giving it a herbal tingle. A marine character then comes forward: watermelon and cucumber add a cool, watery green tone, and lavender with coriander keeps it aromatic. The middle has a salty, faintly soapy quality. Creed classes it as an aromatic fougère, the family built around lavender and herbs, here with a sea-breeze twist, and it ends cleanly on sandalwood, musk and dry woods.

About the original

Erolfa was released in 1992. Most sources credit Olivier Creed, though some name Pierre Bourdon, and neither credit has been confirmed. It was first sold as a men's fragrance, and Creed's US site now places it in the unisex collection. Some older sources describe the concentration as Millésime; Creed sells it today as an Eau de Parfum.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of marine fragrances will find its salty, watery character familiar, while lovers of rich ambers probably will not. The watermelon and cucumber give a cool green tone that some people find refreshing and others find too watery.

It began as a men's fragrance, but Creed's US site now lists it as unisex.

Is Creed Erolfa an Eau de Parfum or a Millésime?

Creed's current Erolfa is labelled Eau de Parfum; older sources sometimes call it Millésime. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 or 100 ml.

Does Erolfa smell of melon?

Watermelon is in Creed's current heart notes, alongside cucumber, so there is a cool, watery fruit tone, but citrus and herbs lead.
