Godolphin, inspired by Parfums de Marly Godolphin (2010)

Thyme gives the opening an aromatic, herbal edge, while saffron adds its leathery spice and raspberry a tart fruitiness. The heart is floral but restrained, with rose, iris and jasmine smoothing the transition. Leather is the main theme, settling over Ambrox (a dry, ambery-woody material) and blond woods.

About the original

Godolphin is one of Parfums de Marly's early horse-themed fragrances; the house was founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, and databases date this release to 2010. The brand presents it as masculine and describes it as 'unbound, vigorous and sophisticated'. Some databases add mate, cypress, cedar and vetiver to the notes, which the official list does not include. It remains in the brand's range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Parfums de Marly stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.
