Rose Exposed, inspired by Tom Ford Rose Exposed Eau de Parfum (2025)

Rose Exposed leads with a dense rose, made by distilling rose absolute together with rose water extract, then layered with rose essence and concentrate. White and pink pepper give it a dry, prickling spice from the start. Orange blossom brightens the middle. The base goes dark with a black leather accord, olibanum and sandalwood, while cashmeran (a musky, woody material with a suede feel) and musk soften the finish.

About the original

Tom Ford announced Rose Exposed in November 2024 and put it on sale in mid-January 2025, in 30 ml and 50 ml. The brand calls it a floral leather that captures the potency of a rose at its peak. No perfumer has been published. It is a separate scent from the line's other roses, Rose Prick, Rose de Chine and Rose d'Amalfi.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tom Ford stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers drawn to rose and leather pairings will find the rose here concentrated and peppery, sitting on smoky leather. It is far from a dewy garden rose. The spice and leather may feel severe to those who like their roses sweet or jammy.

Opening: concentrated rose with white and pink pepper, spicy and dry.

Heart: orange blossom lifts the rose briefly before the black leather accord moves in.

Drydown: sandalwood, olibanum, musk and cashmeran, a smoky, suede-like rose on skin.

How is Rose Exposed different from Rose Prick?

Both are Private Blend roses, but they are separate scents. Rose Exposed is built around leather, pepper and olibanum.

Does Rose Exposed smell of leather?

Yes. A black leather accord sits under the rose from the heart onward, and the brand classes the scent as floral leather.
