Starry Nights, inspired by Montale Starry Nights (2015)

Calabrian bergamot and lemon give Starry Nights a crisp, short opening. Bulgarian rose quickly takes over, paired with Egyptian jasmine and Sumatran patchouli, which lends the flowers an earthy, slightly chocolate-like shadow. As the rose fades, white musk comes forward with a clean, powdery texture. Amber and vanilla sit underneath, adding body more than sweetness.

About the original

Montale summarises Starry Nights as evening rose, patchouli and musk. Fragrance references date it to 2015. The house has since added Intense Starry Nights, listed with the same notes and described as an extrait, which is sold as a separate product. This page refers to the standard eau de parfum.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Montale stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Montale's own tagline points to the evening, and the rose-patchouli pairing has the depth for it. It is floral first, with only moderate sweetness from amber and vanilla. The powdery musk finish could feel dated to some, while patchouli adds an earthiness not every rose fan wants.
