Deja Vu White Flower 57, inspired by Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower | 57 (2020)

Pear and nectarine give the start a clear, fresh fruitiness, and gardenia slips in early. In the heart sit Indian jasmine absolute, orange blossom and a tuberose infusion, a full white-floral bouquet. Below them is crystallized patchouli, a refined form of patchouli with less of the usual earthiness, along with cashmere woods, Sri Lankan sandalwood and Tahitian vanilla. It moves from fruit-led and lively to cosseting by the end.

About the original

Déjà Vu White Flower launched on 9 January 2020 and was developed with the fragrance house Firmenich. No individual perfumer is named, as Kayali credits the Firmenich team. The '57' counts the formula revisions it went through before release. Kayali describes it as fresher and juicier than its earlier scents while still warm and comforting.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kayali stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Compared with Kayali's denser gourmands, this one leans on fruit and flowers rather than sugar. Tuberose and jasmine still give it body, which may be too heady for anyone who prefers airy florals. Vanilla arrives late and keeps the finish cosy.
