Gucci By Gucci Eau De Parfum, inspired by Gucci by Gucci Eau de Parfum (2007)

Gucci by Gucci comes in loud: tropical guava and pear with raspberry, sweetened by a seam of honey. Tiare, the Tahitian gardenia, and orange blossom form the floral middle, but they never dominate. Patchouli is the backbone, earthy and slightly dark, and as it settles the scent becomes a quiet musky skin scent with an ambery, spicy warmth. Calling it a chypre is shorthand: it has the dry, structured feel of the style without the traditional oakmoss.

About the original

Ilias Ermenidis composed the fragrance, which launched in October 2007 as the first major women's scent under creative director Frida Giannini. Reviewers find it mature and somewhat unisex rather than sweet. An Eau de Toilette followed in 2008, and the men's Gucci by Gucci pour Homme is a different scent. Gucci no longer lists the women's version, and wearers were reporting it unavailable by early 2023.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Gucci stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Mature rather than girlish, it suits a wearer who enjoys patchouli and doesn't mind a fruity blast at the start. That opening is noisy before it calms, and the honey and guava may seem sweet to anyone used to classic oakmoss chypres.

Guava, raspberry and pear make a loud, tropical opening, rounded by honey.

Tiare and orange blossom follow, with spider lily behind them, a creamy floral layer that stays in the middle distance.

Patchouli and musk carry the drydown, earthy and close to the skin, with a trace of honey still there.

Is Gucci by Gucci for women discontinued?

It no longer appears in Gucci's range, and wearers have reported it unavailable since around 2023. As far as we know, Gucci has made no formal announcement.

Is this the women's or the men's Gucci by Gucci?

The women's Eau de Parfum from 2007. Gucci by Gucci pour Homme is a separate fragrance, which we also make.

Is it sweet?

Partly. Guava and honey give a sweet start, but patchouli and musk make the drydown dry and earthy.

Is Gucci By Gucci Eau De Parfum coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Gucci that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
