Manifesto, inspired by Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto (2012)

Manifesto starts green and tart, blackcurrant and bergamot lifted by leafy green notes. Jasmine sambac quickly fills the middle, with lily of the valley adding a cooler, cleaner floral tone. Sweetness then takes over: vanilla and tonka bean, with a candied layer that Bois de Jasmin compared to caramelised sugar, laid over sandalwood and cedar.

About the original

Anne Flipo and Loc Dong created Manifesto for Yves Saint Laurent, and it reached most markets in August 2012, the United States following in 2013. Jessica Chastain fronted the campaign. It is a woody floral oriental, and Bois de Jasmin judged it rather conventional despite the bold name. Later flankers include Manifesto L'Éclat (2014) and Manifesto L'Elixir; this page follows the original Eau de Parfum, which no longer appears on YSL's European or US sites.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Yves Saint Laurent stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

It suits someone who wants a sweet floral that is easy to read rather than unusual. The sweetness is noticeable from the heart onwards, built on vanilla and tonka rather than fruit. A dry or austere jasmine it is not.

The original 2012 Eau de Parfum. L'Elixir is a separate flanker, and we make it as its own product.

How sweet is Manifesto?

Moderately sweet. The vanilla and tonka base is the dominant impression once the green opening fades.

Is YSL Manifesto discontinued?

It no longer appears on YSL's European or US websites and is widely described as discontinued there, although YSL still lists it in some other markets.

Is Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Yves Saint Laurent that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
