Sorrel & Lemon Thyme, inspired by Jo Malone London Sorrel & Lemon Thyme Cologne (2016)

Lemon and bigarade, the French name for bitter orange, open it with a zesty, slightly bitter citrus. Sorrel, a leafy herb with a sour, lemony bite, keeps the fruit green, while lemon thyme and rosemary add a savoury, aromatic edge. Petitgrain, distilled from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree, links the citrus to the herbs. Geranium leaves and moss settle it into a light, green base.

About the original

Sorrel & Lemon Thyme was released in March 2016 as part of The Herb Garden, a limited edition set of five colognes. Its companions were Wild Strawberry & Parsley, Nasturtium & Clover, Carrot Blossom & Fennel and Lavender & Coriander. Jo Malone London presents its colognes as unisex and made for layering two scents, which the brand calls fragrance combining. As a seasonal limited release, it is no longer produced.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

The clean, herbal character divides people: some find it crisp and refreshing, others think it too close to a cleaning product. It came out as a spring and summer release and is light, with no sweet or musky base to soften the herbs.

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Jo Malone London about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
