Marfa, inspired by Memo Paris Marfa (2016)

Mandarin and peach make a fruity entrance, but tuberose soon takes the lead. It is the full-bodied kind of white flower, given extra lushness by orange blossom and the banana-like richness of ylang-ylang. In the drydown Virginia cedarwood and sandalwood bring a woody frame, softened by vanilla and tonka.

About the original

Memo Paris launched Marfa in March 2016, naming it after the desert art town of Marfa in Texas. Aliénor Massenet composed it. The notes released at launch were short, tuberose absolute and orange blossom absolute over white musk, whereas the current official pyramid adds mandarin, peach, ylang-ylang and a woody vanilla base. A flanker, Marfa Spices, followed in 2017; this page refers to the original Marfa.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Memo Paris stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Tuberose divides people, and this one puts the flower front and centre. White-floral sceptics may find it heady, whereas fans of lush tuberose should feel at home.

The original Marfa from 2016. Marfa Spices is a separate flanker released by Memo Paris in 2017.

Does Marfa smell mainly of tuberose?

Yes, tuberose is the main note, supported by orange blossom and ylang-ylang. Mandarin and peach brighten the start, and cedar and vanilla round off the base.
