Millesime Imperial, inspired by Creed Millésime Impérial (1995)

The start is bergamot with blackcurrant, which brings a tart, slightly leafy fruitiness, and violet leaf adds a green, cucumber-like coolness. A salty accord soon appears, suggesting skin after a swim rather than watery ozone. Orris, the dried iris root, gives that salt a smooth, faintly powdery texture. The base is clean and woody, with musk smoothing the edges.

About the original

Creed made Millésime Impérial in 1995, which retailers describe as a celebration of the house's 150th anniversary. It is usually credited to Olivier Creed, although Creed's own pages do not name a perfumer. The scent belongs to the brand's Millésime line and is sold as a unisex eau de parfum. Its packaging has been updated recently, with the formula reported as unchanged.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.
