Pink Vetiver, inspired by Jo Loves Pink Vetiver (2012)

Pink peppercorns, listed by the brand as red pepper berries, give a rosy, peppery sparkle at the top. Cardamom and juniper berries keep it cool and aromatic, while cumin and nutmeg add a savoury heat. Ginger and elemi, a resin with a lemony smell, brighten the middle alongside green angelica. Ambrette, a seed with a natural musky scent, smooths the edges as vetiver, a grassy and earthy root, carries the scent to its close.

About the original

Pink Vetiver is by Jo Loves, the separate house Jo Malone founded in 2011 after leaving Jo Malone London, so it is not a Jo Malone London cologne. It launched in 2012. Jo Loves describes it as a clean, contemporary re-invention of vetiver, inspired by her father's crisp white shirts and by a spice market in Grasse. Jo Loves sells it as an eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Loves stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its ideal wearer likes vetiver but finds the traditional versions austere. Cumin can read as slightly sweaty to some noses, though here it sits inside a clean, peppery frame.
