Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver, inspired by Hermès Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver (2018)

Citrus leads, bergamot with a green tang and grapefruit adding bitterness, while Sichuan pepper gives a tingling, almost electric spice. Geranium sits briefly in the middle. Vetiver then takes control: a grass root with an earthy, slightly smoky smell, kept clean here rather than dusty. Olibanum (frankincense), patchouli and amberwood add depth underneath.

About the original

Christine Nagel created Eau Intense Vétiver for Hermès in 2018 as a flanker to Terre d'Hermès. Hermès describes it as an intense, woody eau de parfum that shows the depth of vetiver alongside green bergamot and Sichuan pepper. Many wearers find it fresher than the 2006 original. It is one of several versions in the line, next to the Parfum, the Eau de Parfum Intense and Eau Givrée, and Hermès still sells it.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hermès stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Versatility is its strength: wearers use it year-round, for work and casual days alike. It is dry and earthy rather than sweet, so anyone looking for a plush, ambery woody scent should look elsewhere.

How is it different from the original Terre d'Hermès?

It puts vetiver at the centre, with green bergamot and Sichuan pepper, and reviewers generally find it fresher than the 2006 original. We also make the original Terre d'Hermès.

Is it the same as Eau Très Fraîche?

No. Eau Très Fraîche (2014) is a lighter, watery orange flanker that no longer appears in the Hermès range. We make both.
