Reflection Woman, inspired by Amouage Reflection Woman (2007)

Reflection Woman begins green and wet, as if leaves had just been watered, with water violet and freesia over tropical green leaves. Magnolia brings a lemony floral tone to the heart, and ylang-ylang and jasmine add fuller white-flower sweetness. Musk and amber then wrap the flowers, while cedar and sandalwood keep the finish clean and woody.

About the original

Maurice Roucel is the perfumer behind Reflection Woman, which Amouage launched in April 2007 together with Reflection Man. The two share a name but are different scents. Amouage's current note list adds ylang-ylang and musk, neither of which appeared on the 2007 launch list. The brand describes the progression as a dewy green opening, a bouquet of white flowers, then musks and woods wrapped in amber.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Amouage stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers who find white florals heavy may get on with this one, since the green, dewy start keeps it airy. Its base is gentle rather than sweet, though the ylang-ylang can read slightly heady.
