Green Orange & Coriander, inspired by Jo Loves Green Orange & Coriander (2011)

Unripe orange, more bitter peel than sweet juice, sets the tone, and black pepper sharpens it from the first spray. Coriander follows in two forms: the seed, which is spicy and slightly woody, and the leaf, which is green and herbal. Oakmoss gives the base a damp, forest-floor greenness, while tonka bean, with its almond and hay facets, rounds the edges.

About the original

This fragrance comes from Jo Loves, the separate house Jo Malone founded in 2011, and not from Jo Malone London. It was among the first Jo Loves scents, debuting as a 100 ml eau de toilette at the brand's pop-up shop in Selfridges, London, in November 2011. Press at the launch summed it up as green citrus paired with herbs.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Loves stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its green, peppery character fits people who like citrus scents with structure. Oakmoss and tonka give more depth than a simple splash, yet the overall feel stays fresh. A sweet, sunny orange this is not, and the bitterness and herbs may seem austere to some.
