Hot Couture, inspired by Givenchy Hot Couture (2000)

Raspberry leads, jammy and vivid, with bergamot and orange beside it. Pepper and vetiver come through underneath, giving the fruit a dry contrast, while magnolia adds a smooth floral note. As it settles, sandalwood, amber and musk take over, and the drydown has been described as having a honeyed, tobacco-like warmth.

About the original

Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier created Hot Couture for Givenchy in 2000, in both eau de parfum and eau de toilette. The two differ: the eau de toilette is described as fruitier and sweeter, the eau de parfum as woodier and more refined. Givenchy still sells it in Les Mythiques, its heritage collection, in a redesigned bottle; the current official note list for the eau de parfum is shorter than the 2000 pyramid, naming raspberry, jasmine and vetiver. Hot Couture Collection No.1 is a separate flanker.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Givenchy stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Raspberry supplies the sweetness, while pepper and vetiver add a drier edge. It reads bold rather than delicate, and a fresh, light floral it is not.
