Loverdose Red Kiss, inspired by Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss (2015)

Red Kiss opens fruity, with crisp apple, tart blackcurrant and bergamot. Orange blossom soon appears, but the real focus is a toasted hazelnut and cocoa accord that gives it a praline-like feel. Apricot adds a velvety fruit note in the middle. Patchouli, vanilla and amber woods ground it, keeping the sweetness from turning cloying.

About the original

Diesel introduced Loverdose Red Kiss for Valentine's Day 2015, releasing it first in France in February before the wider launch that April. It uses the same heart-shaped bottle as the 2011 Loverdose, in deep red glass. Some sources date it to 2013, but launch press confirms 2015. It is not related to the Red Kiss sold by La Rive.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Diesel stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Gourmand lovers will find more to enjoy here than in the original Loverdose, as the licorice is gone and nut and cocoa take its place. Its sweetness is pronounced, which may be too much for someone who prefers a crisp or green floral.
