Man In Black, inspired by Bvlgari Man in Black (2014)

Man in Black opens with rum, sweet and boozy, carried by warm spices. A leather accord forms the heart, paired with tuberose, a heady white flower, and iris, which brings a cool, powdery texture. Benzoin, a vanilla-like resin, joins tonka bean and guaiac wood in the base, giving it a smoky, balsamic finish. Bvlgari frames the scent around fire, from the first spark to smouldering embers.

About the original

Bvlgari introduced Man in Black in 2014 as a flanker to Bvlgari Man (2010), marking the house's 130th anniversary. The inspiration was the myth of Vulcan, the Roman god of fire. Bulgari still sells it as the Fire scent of the Bvlgari Man collection, in a matte black bottle meant to evoke lava stone. A more concentrated Man in Black Parfum came later; this page follows the 2014 eau de parfum.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Bvlgari stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rich and sweet-leaning, Man in Black reads as mature rather than sporty. Men who like boozy, leathery scents with a resinous base are its natural audience. The rum and tuberose make it a poor choice for anyone wanting a clean or citrus profile.

No. Bvlgari Black (1998) is an unrelated fragrance; Man in Black belongs to the Bvlgari Man line.
