The One Desire

The One Desire, inspired by Dolce & Gabbana The One Desire (2013)

Bergamot and mandarin give a quick citrus start, while lychee adds a rosy fruit note and lily of the valley a cool floral one. Tuberose then takes the centre, heady and rich. The base is where Desire earns its name: caramel and vanilla, with sandalwood and musk keeping it from becoming pure confection. It was pitched as a sexier take on The One, and the caramel is the clearest sign of that.

About the original

Dolce & Gabbana launched The One Desire in January 2013, first in Italy and that spring in the US, as a flanker of The One from 2006. Givaudan's perfumers developed it with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Scarlett Johansson starred in the campaign, photographed by Terry Richardson, and the black bottle carried 'Desire' in Sicilian Baroque handwriting. It is no longer part of the brand's The One range, which now centres on The One, The One Intense, The One Gold and The Only One.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dolce & Gabbana stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its caramel and vanilla base will appeal to gourmand fans more than to lovers of crisp florals. Tuberose is prominent too, which some people find heady.

No, it is The One Desire (2013), a women's flanker. We also make the original The One for women and The One for men.

Was The One Desire an Eau de Parfum or an Intense?

Launch press called it an Eau de Parfum, though many retailers list it as Eau de Parfum Intense.

Is Dolce & Gabbana The One Desire coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Dolce & Gabbana that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
