Papilefiko, inspired by Nishane Papilefiko (2022)

Papilefiko starts spicy and fresh, with cardamom and coriander lifted by citrus. The heart turns aromatic: lavandin, a hardier cousin of lavender with a more camphorous edge, and artemisia, a bitter, herbal wormwood note, run alongside a slightly indolic jasmine. The base is the darkest part. Fir balsam, moss and styrax, a resin with a smoky, leathery sweetness, give a deep, forest-floor finish.

About the original

Papilefiko is Esperanto for 'butterfly effect' and was presented at Esxence 2022 in Nishane's Time Capsule Collection, alongside Tempfluo, Kredo and Tero. An Esxence report credits it to Dominique Ropion. Nishane classifies it as spicy, floral and balsamic, and press described the collection as complex and not sweet.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Nishane stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of herbal, aromatic scents with mossy, resinous bases will feel at home. Press coverage recommends the Time Capsule line for autumn and the colder months. It has no real sweetness, which may disappoint someone expecting a sugary modern niche scent.

No. Press describes the Time Capsule line as complex and not sweet, and this one leans spicy, herbal and mossy.
